Yeah it throws most of us off if they post rather than just arranging an intro on the PS...but I usually have a peek just to make sure. Glad that between the 2 of us, we caught that one! smiley - smiley

Hmm...

I cooked fantastic steak rolls last night. Thin sliced sirloin marinaded in light olive oil and a rub made of mixed peppercorns, garlic, jalapeno peppers and salt. I fried the onions gently and added a teaspoon of chilli jam, kept them warm while I fried the steaks off in the same pan, set the steaks aside to rest briefly while I got the part-baked crusty rolls fresh out of the oven, halved em, buttered em, a smear of chilli jam, a blob of wholegrain mustard for the boy's rolls and half the steak in each roll so we had two rolls each.

You know what, it was BLOODY lovely.

What really successful cooking have you done recently? (I'm so proud of myself. My steaks usually come out a bit dull and lifeless...)

A Super Furry Animal

Last night I cooked meatballs. It was successful, but then, I've done it many a time before.

At the weekend I shall be attempting something called coq au vermouth.

I'm a bit funny about meatballs. I dont really like eating my meats mixed so I dont mind pork or beef, but not both together in one meatball. It's a funny fussy thing but it just turns me off smiley - sadface

I make mine with minced beef and pancetta. Does that count as mixing your meats?

Ooh no, I reckon that'd be acceptable!!! (pancetta's not meat, it's a necessity!)

I love the taste of some good meaty balls... smiley - droolsmiley - flyingpigsmiley - drool
I had rice last night for dinner. With chicken. onion, mushrooms and some other stuff.
Today I ate a whole pig, grilled, on toast, for lunch. smiley - droolsmiley - flyingpig
