Advertising. Can you believe it?

Having lived for over 45 years in a world of advertising I have reached this conclusion, I don't believe a single word of it. The basic premise of any advert appears to be to convince you to do something that you would not ordinarily choose to do. Not for me the clever French Connection marketing ploy, no that can F*C*U*K right off and they can stick their t-shirts up their A*S*R*E. Donna Karen holds no place in my heart nor do Dolce and his equally talentless friend Gabbana. Toni and Guy can cut somebody elses hair and even though McDonalds does make me go mmm, it's not in the way that you're thinking.
The confusion that advertising tries to cause merely adds to the stress of life.
The world does not have a favourite airline, it's an impossibility and if I want my kids to drink a healthy drink, it won't be called Sunny D.
Believe your senses not your imagination. Guinness tastes disgusting. Beans means wind. Skegness is dull. Stella Artois is too expensive. Ragu Italian sauce is made in Holland.
Is it just me?

Guinness is what they call an acquired taste. But rather good it is!
I'm with you on the basic premise about advertising though - it's there to persuade you to buy something you don't want or don't need. Cos if you wanted it or needed it, you'd buy it anyway, regardless of a commercial. (funds permitting).
