I went to the Alton Towers meet with friends I met on the now defunct X Files Messageboard, I met Pegasus, Clive the ostritch, Frankie Roberto, Event Horizon, MC and Wumby from here and they encouraged me to join and I've been here for 3 years

A long time ago there was an article about this new community encyclopaedia in a PC magazine. As a Hitchhiker enthusiast I just had to visit www.h2g2.com, then of course got sucked in and here we are...

I was on www.isc.ro International Scrabble Club and a h2g2 user was there and he gave me the link.

I was a user of Leisure District Chat facility until it closed. After a few months in the wildernes I then received a 'magic' email that let me use H2. I had the link stored away, and decided to register today!

...I'd been /meaning/ to have a look on hootoo for years, but had kept forgetting.
And then, when I was doing some research on WW1, I got an article from this site thrown at me...
I lurked the site for about 3 months before I joined! I've now been for more than 3 years...!
