After several minutes of scrutiny I've concluded that the strange alien guy on the miscellaneous chat page seems to be saying "7yrs 1n Ask"

move the mouse over it and it says "alien speaking in goobledegook" - as opposed to "gobbledegook". What does that tell you?

gobbledegook is all sorts of technical language that serves the purpose of keeping the knowledge within the guild. legalese is a good example, as is the sort of vocabularies that the "in crowd" develope to identify outsiders to the group.
