yes, hopelessly, hopelessly addicted, to both. Even more so than to chocolate, and I REALLY like chocolate. The only other show I was ever this addicted to was star trek TNG. which i have seen every single episode of at least twice. It's kinda sad, I know, but hey, I enjoy it, and who are any of you to judge? Some day all of you will be found out... But yes, anyway, in conclusion: Buffy good, Angel good.

Hey, I love Star Trek to, so no bad. (I have seen every episode of TNG at least 4 times, and was totally addicted to Data at one time, but don´t tell anyone...)
As far a Buffy is concerned, I been looking for someone to talk to about the greatness of it all... I mean, fourth season episode HUSH, could there be more genius in the world? Joss Whedon is totally THE MAN...
Me and a friend of mine started a new club called ABA (Anonymous Buffy & Angelholics) anyone care to join...
And let´s hear some comments about semi newbeeis like Riley and Tara. And does anyone else think that Anya is a total Cordelia replacement?
As far as Angel goes, Cordelia is so great when she gets a chance to shine a bit...
Let´s hear some thougts people

yes Hush is fantastic! Definitely the best episode. The Gentlemen are so ridiculous, and yet oddly menacing at the same time.
As for Riley and Tara... I hate Riley, I despise him, he is a goober. Tara is quite cool, but even in series 5 she doesn't seem to have more than a very minor role... except in that episode that was entirely about her, obviously.
ANd Anya... in the sense that she took Cordelia's place with Xander, and her more general place of '3rd female character' then yes, I suppose she is a cordelia replacement. But she's so much funnier than Cordelia, don't you think?

Oh no, you hate Riley..., I love Riley. First because I´m female, and well, duh... He´s gourgous. I mean come on..., if Buffy desides she doesn´t want him anyway, I´ll take him.
But I also like him for that fact that he´s good for Buffy, that she gets to have a somewhat normal guy who can take her into the sunlight (as Angel once said it so nicely) and who knows who she is and accepts it. Plus he´s nice and caring and all that good stuff. What was it he said in that episode where they were discussing whether or not Dawn was jealuos of Buffy. "You have a studly yet sencetive boyfrind." I was so craking up, but it was true...
Okay, moving on from Riley and directly into Tara. I also love Tara, I think she and Willow are sooo cute together and just make me want to go gay... Okay, not really, but anyway... (By the by, did you know that Alyson Hannigan is dating Alexis Denisof, who plays Wesley on Angel, in real life now?)
I think that maybe Tara will get to play a bigger role in the future or at least I hope so. Unless of course everything now has to revolve around Dawn... I liked the episode that was about Tara and her family.
And come one, how funny is it that Spike is now in love with Buffy... And Harmony as a vampire..., major comedy factor...
Moving directly on to Anya... I still haven´t decided quite what I think of her yet. I the beginning she annoyed me and sometimes she still does (mainly because I for some to me unknown reason am not to fond of Emma Claudfield). But sometimes she is funny and I do laugh. But I think Cordelia was much funnier, because she was not and ex-demon and did not have an excuse for what she was like. Plus she is a totally different person on Angel now, and I just love her all the more now...
What did you think of the return of Faith? At first I just wanted Joss Whedon to kill of Faith so they could get a new slayer in. But when they did the double episode "This year´s girl + Who are you?" and the followups on Angel (Five by Five and Sanctuary) I was totally hooked on Faith staying. You can´t help but feel kindda bad for the girl, dispite all she´s done...
Okay, let me just breathe now... But when I get started on Buffy and the genious that is Joss Whedon, it´s kindda har to stop. But for now I will...

Nah- I don't like Riley, he's too normal and boring for the show.
By the way, did anyone else notice the anne rice rip-offs / references / allusions in the angel & buffy episodes where they went into the past/remembered? Sorry, I never catch the names of the episodes...

ok, ok, i'm male, but I still have some ability to judge the relative attractiveness of other men, and in my opinion, Angel is far better looking than Riley. And so is Xander. Even Giles... well, no, not Giles, but Xander, yes. And besides, Angel was far better in the 'Buffy's boyfriend' role than Riley, Riley's just boring. I do admit, however that my dislike of Riley could just be a smaller part of my general dislike for most of series 4. The whole Initiative thing never really worked very well for me; I never really got into it.
And I completely agree about Tara and Willow, it's so much sweeter htan any of the Buffy-related romance.
I really enjoyed the return of Faith, but I don't think she'd work as a regular character. 2 episodes each was probably about right.

I have a male best friend who also thinks Angel is much hotter than Riley, which is wierd enough in it self, him so not being gay and all...
But I have to say, while still on Buffy, Angel did absolutely nothing for me. But when he got his own show I could suddenly see, that hey, maybe he was kindda sexy after all. He´s not so uptight any more and even smiles at regular intervals. And I love the brother/sister relationship he has with Cordelia.
I love the scene with him and Buffy in "I Will Remember you" (if you´ve seen it you know what I´m talking about.)
But all in all I still think he´s no good for Buffy, because she can never have some of the normal things in life with him and I think she deserves that...
Many people like Xander, but again, he does nothing for me... I still think Riley is a cutie and I have backup for that from many of my female friends. But that doesn´t mean I don´t like Angel, not at all, can´t I just have them both???
And please don´t start on Giles with me, because then you really start digging out my wierd obsseions. I am 22 years old and I basically want Giles for my sex toy... I soooo love that man, he is the cutest thing I have ever seen, and very sexy too. If I could have anyone on Buffy or Angel for my very own, I would chose Giles over them all...
So there, I´ve said it, I know, I´m wierd...

Helium Bandit Posted Apr 15, 2001
That's kinda funny, cos I have a male best friend, who also thinks Angel is way hotter than Riley, but maybe it's not so wierd, him so being gay and all. It's just a matter of opinion really, and there's not much point arguing over it. Not that I don't enjoy a good pointless argument...
A public forum probably isn't the best place to say something like this, but.... I kinda see what you mean about Giles. Especially when he's doing his 'God of Rock' thing. Yes, ok, maybe i'm a little wierd too. Like, I find Willow much more attractive than Buffy, which is definitely against the general run of opinion.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.... Everybody else thinks I´m a complete freak because I think Giles is sexy... And his voice... The first time I heard him sing on "Where the wild things are" I was just completely more in love with him then I had been already... He´s really good. (If you ever hear of Anthony Stewart Head releaching a CD please let me know).
I love Willow too... As a matter of fact, she, Buffy and Giles are my three favorits on the show. And yes Willow is very attractive and so is Buffy. But I don´t wanna go there and say which is more than the other, because they are each beautiful in their own way, and I love them both...
But I do have a special fondness for Willow (as Buffy does, and Tara... ), and I love the way she can just say the funniest things sometimes without even wanting to. I just love the whole Willowness of it all, she was a favorit of mine from day one, as it was with Giles and Buffy...

I love the bit in one of the first episodes where Willow says "I need to sit down"
"You are sitting down"
"Oh. Good for me."

Oh I love that scene... But there are a lot of really good Willow scences... She just says the funniest things.
One day I will compile a list of favorit Willow quotes.

Well, I'm a lesbian, and I have to say that I find willow is a lot more attractive than buffy, but in a weird way I also find giles to be strangely attractive too
maybe WE are not the wierd ones ... its giles! he's done a spell, or taken the sexual magnatism virus (red dwarf)!!
Buffy/Angel
Dax Posted Apr 18, 2001
Apparently Willow must have something special..., as does Giles... Power to the geeks for they have the sexual magnatism...
If I were to go gay I would probably chose Buffy over Willow though, quite a sexy girl that Sarah Michelle Gellar... Or perhaps I could just have them both
Since I´m not gay though, I think I´ll just stick with pining away over Giles and imagining all sorts of entertaning thing I could do with him

Dax Posted Apr 18, 2001
Really, all a matter of taste really...
So, do you like the way they are doing the whole Willow/Tara thing? Or do you think they should be a bit more straightforward (no pun intended) and let them kiss on-screen?
This may be an entirely different discussion, but: Why do you think it is generally more accepted for a straight woman to experiment with kissing another woman, than it is for a straight man to do the same with another man? Shouldn´t the rules be the same? Yet if a woman does it, it is considered sexy and if a man does it, it´s gross... Why is that?
I spent many a night discussing that very issue with my ex-boyfriend, because I have to admit, I have thought a lot about being with another woman... But I am still turned on by men, so I know I´m not gay...
Boy, just got completely of the Buffy/Angel subject there, what a Willow thing to do of me...

NexusSeven Posted Apr 18, 2001
Despite being a straight fella, I have to say that Riley is the pits and Angel is so 2-dimensional that you could fold him and post him through a letterbox.
Spike's the man! He's got it all: cheekbones I envy beyond reason, looks good in a trenchcoat, dubious way-too-much-elocution accent, the lot. Plus he's beaten all the other male contenders in the great lines stakes.
I rest my case.
Buffy/Angel
Dax Posted Apr 18, 2001
Uh... Spike... Wouldn´t say no to him Actually I always found Spike quite attractive and sort of have a thing for him also...
But I still say Giles "The Ripper" is the way to go if you want a REAL man... and I do

I love the way they are doing it. It gives it more integrity rather than just exploiting it for a few male viewers. I think they realise just how many gay fans the show has.
>Why do you think it is generally more accepted for a straight woman to experiment with kissing another woman, than it is for a straight man to do the same with another man
>because I have to admit, I have thought a lot about being with another woman.
well I think that's part of it, if a woman 'experiments' she can still be straight, but if men so, they are considered gay.
but I'm not sure why it is, though I'm damn grateful, because we seem to get a lot less abuse than gay males.
And also, just to put in my two cents about the previous riley/angel debate, I would have to say I think angel is better looking, though on what authority I say this I don't know
