I like the posting in the forum from the person who "didn't know it was a joke. It was sent to them by someone who told them it was for real....

I wrote that I wondered what they would think if someone told them about there being a belief that the entire world, the Universe, and everything that existed, in 7 days (6 and a Stat Holiday) by an invisible man who also made a man out of mud and a woman from an bone he found somewhere....

Oh no. I am suffering intollerable reverlations. Can this coexist in my belief system alo alongside the one True BoB and the holy power of Hasslehoff... I fear I may suffer intolerable religious insurgance and possibly flatulence for weeks till I resolve the pasta issue.

amidst all the amusing jibes - that last article is a scary reminder of the sustained attack science and the teachers of science come under from the minority of christian lunatics out there.

One does sometimes wonder how much money the ID proponents personally make from salaries, book sales, etc.

Probably a great deal considering the size of the Christian market.

Of course, the size of that Christian market does not indicate that the believers in ID are in the majority (as some would have others believe) it is just that the vast majority of people do not need to buy books in order to use their brains.... they can look around them and see the world for what it is.

People like that idiot who posted on the forum who cannot use their own brains to see that something is so patently and obviously a joke are, unfortunately, while still a minority, a growing minority. Unfortunately, there is a sort of legitimacy, in some quarters, in being ignorant.
