'my 2 kids were health and safety conscious if they saw a piece of fluff on the floor, they'd walk round it in case they tripped up over it'.
It's a pity all kids were not like that. If they were then, maybe at some time, they might eventually be forced to pick up the discarded coke can, McDonald's containers, fag packets and dog ends they currently sprinkle around all over the place

Sho - employed again! Posted Jul 19, 2009
While the Gruesome Twosome are away I'm trying to muck-out one of their rooms. But it's soooo depressing. I'm finding things in there that have been missing for months (partly school things which I've already replaced )

funny you should say that
and in more than one way two - er - too...
here's the second reason:
i thought pc died on me yesterday and i just seconds ago found out this was not so. this is the very first thing i do with pc since i suceeded in reviving/restarting her
for more technical details read this:
in order to find out if it was pc or my screen that had problems i connected pc to another screen. w*rked like a charm
to make sure that i hadn't just loosened a frozen harddrive in pc buy moving her i then connected mac to the 'old' screen
surprise: this w*rks also
so i should be happy that everything w*rks again, but it worries me that i never found out what was wrong
i am also sorry for taking up this much space in another hikers thread

Thank you - I almost spat my out reading that one!
"...mention that word and they ran off screaming"
- When I was very young and impressionable, my older brother managed to convince me that I would be sucked up the vacuum cleaner if it got too close - he demonstrated using bits of paper... ok, I was gullible. I was 7 before my parents finally bought one of those red ones with a smiley face, and I was able to be in the same room as one!
He *was* ... at the same time my parents weren't able to leave me alone in the bath with him - he held my ankle once, took the plug out of the bath, and let me feel how the plughole seems to "suck" - "If I wasn't holding you tight, it would suck you down!!"

>> and they believed in vampires, but they looked like hoover's,because mention that word and they ran off screaming <<
Why does a hoover suck?
Because it hasn't got any teeth!

When I was small, I ran around excitedly shouting "Grandma is coming!" when my mother got the hoover out. She decided she might have to use it a bit more often after that

That's just like me when I was a student - my mate in the flat next door always knew when either my parents or my girlfriend were visiting, same reason!
When The Missus first came on the scene, I was living in a pokey little 2up 2down slum. One day my best mate came round, and stopped dead in his tracks.
"You've got... a TABLECLOTH!!"
- "yes"
"You've got a WOMAN!!!"
There's logic!
Oh, and "He doesn't work at Guantanamo does he?" - he could do, two other things I remember were "Here, lick these wires you can see what electricity tastes like!"
and "Hold your hand out - I can make a picture of the sun in your hand using this magnifying glass!"
