I'm messy at the best of times, but my living room currently looks as if somebody dropped a bomb in here.

I managed to book train tickets to go visiting my parents and my sister for Christmas/New Year. It took me various attempts to find some cheap tickets, and I bought them saying that I and son #2 have a 'Bahncard' which reduced the price by a further 12.5%.
I thought I'd better put everything (the printed tickets and the Bahncards and timetables) in one place.
Right. No Bahncard was to be found. On asking my son for his, he produced one from last year (we have a subscription and get new ones every year).

Now I was sure that I had still had my card when I went to my parents in October this year. But where did I put it?

I've searched the complete flat (hence my living room being in its chaotic state) - with no result.

Meanwhile, I had started wondering whether I cancelled the subscription and didn't recall it.
I wasn't 100% sure about having shown it last time I took the train. Or maybe I had shown them the old one I found in my wallet and they hadn't noticed?

I decided to call the company and ask for provisional cards. Found a letter with a phone number from last year. have tried since Monday. The line was always busy.

In the end, I googled for the phone number. Found it on DB's homepage - it's completely different from the one I've tried all the time.

Well, to my huge relief, I *have* a valid Bahncard , I just can't find it.
I have now got a number which I'll have to type into the automat at the main station, and then the automat will print the provisional cards.
Now the main station isn't just around the corner, so it will take me a few hours (and cost money) to go there and back, but it'll still be cheaper than travelling without valid cards.

My friend who lives in Brussels now is coming visiting today, and the fla is a mess. My head's been spinning for the past few days (due to low BP, no doubt) and today, I have a in addition to that.

There are so many things I meant to do before Christmas, like writing and sending Christmas cards, but I'm not sure I'll manage.

So all my friends who are so lovely and send me a card: if you don't get any from me, it doesn't mean I wasn't thinking of you. It just means that I'm too busy being stressed.

i hate losing things, i cant find my comb today, so my hair looks like a haystack! this is when i should actually be tidy and put things in sensible places every time i use them, then i wouldnt have to feel around my carpet trying to find things

I try to keep the place tidy, I really do. It's just that it never lasts for long - two days if I'm lucky. I think I lack the *tidy* gene.

I'm glad you've found a way to get provisional cards. Definitely better than paying a huge fare!

While I've got a tidy living room, I never get around to sending out holiday cards, either. I bought some several years ago with the intention of sending a few out every year, and it hasn't happened yet. And my only excuse is being lazy and forgetful.

Knowing myself, I'll not even manage to send e-cards.

lil, it's why I always end up not sending cards (or sending them a day before Christmas): I think: oh, it's still tow weekss to go, so I procrastinate.

That could explain why Hubby has been tutting at me, and moving the cards to where I happen to be

I've already sent all of mine that have to go to far away places like Canada and Belgium. Iz designed the card and we scanned it in and made a nice card using Print Artist.

You can come and tidy MY living room, PC - The Missus keeps trying to do far too much, and keeps feeling sore as a result. She doesn't listen to me when I tell her to take it easy, so I need someone to come in and make sure she rests - and tidying the living room would be a great bonus! I might even throw in a cup of Captain Coffee Break when I get in from work!

i just unpacked the Christmas decorations and the top half of the Christmas tree is missing????????????????

Oh, it might still happen this year that I send a few cards. While searching for my Bahncards I discovered a box with Christmas cards, and they're now on the table in the living room waiting to be written, addressed and sent.

Bel, take a photo of a card, upload it to your photo site, and tell everyone it's for them! Simple, and saves on postage!
