oh yeah, there are some pretty remarkable ladies in my family. i just talked on the phone with my mother. she got a new hip this afternoon and is already looking forward to her next tango

I had a great-aunt like that. She broke her leg when she was over 80, yet she recovered from it and took up her walks again.

good for her
my mother was scheduled for the operation at a public hospital. due to a strike there she now had it done in a private clinique. turns out the staff there is very nice

she may very well do that again shortly. she's only 79, you know 
but right now she is learning to walk again.
