I had the HHGG in mind when I posted that, but then when Moonhogg asked I thought my memory isn't what it used to be and searched for it in the book. Couldn't find it , so went for Stanley Tweedle instead, from the LEXX, who, as far as I recalled, was a telephonist of the second order - only that I now found he was a security guard.

Wow, I go away for a few days, and when I come back, B'El is riding a bike in a tight skirt.
(My bike never wears skirt of any sort; which part does the garment cover?)
Something about riding a bike in space, too. (Didn't E.T. do that? Oh, wrong movie... Now I am confused.)
Glad your sons provided you with a happy Mother's Day. B'El. You deserved it.

Thanks, Pierce and hstwrd.
Actually, mother's day is no big deal in my family, so it made a nice change that my son remembered it.

my mother loathes mothers day
prolly stems back from when a great-grandmother kicked some local nazis down her stairs
they came to offer her a 'mutterverdienstkreuz' (medal of honour for giving birth to more than four children) but she shouted at them: "I'm no prize sow! "
(which was actually pretty couragious of her. you could get killed for less but they were prolly afraid of becoming the laughing stock of her city )
