Never-ending bike story
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted May 11, 2008
Oh, yes, mother's day. I had forgotten about it until son #2 came in this morning, hugging and kissing me and wishing me all the best for mother's day.
But then I'm not the husband's mother, so he doesn't need to care, does he?
Both my sons were lovely, so I can't complain.

Different mother's day here of course.
I hope you sort things out to your satisfaction.
When your son gave you a lift on the bike how did you sit? On the handlebars with your legs hanging down either side of the front wheel? I'd love to see that. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid eat your heart out.
Raindrops keep falling on my head

No, that would have been a bit too risky - apart from the fact that I'd have blocked his view, it would have made steering rather difficult. I sat on the back part of the saddle, trying to keep my legs out of the way, clinging on to his shoulders.

My son and his friends are often seen dangerously riding with each other on the handlebars. I can only look with my hands over my eyes!

Yes, I bet that's the best way to look.
I'm just glad I couldn't watch myself, must have been a sight to behold. I had trouble getting on and off the bike because of the short skirt I wore.

That would have been better than wearing a ball gown I expect.
Or a pencil skirt!
I'm off to bed now - see you soon.

Sleep well, Vestie.
Think about what, Gnomon?
What's a pencil skirt? The one I had was tight enough to make things difficult, but I managed somehow.

It was the image of you in a short skirt on a bicycle I wasn't going to think about, but now you've made me do so.
