It's only four weeks ago that I wanted to cut my hair because it was so hot.
Good job I wrote the journal instead and left my hair as it was.
It's incredibly cold here - is 'this' our summer?
I won't complain about the rain because we're very lucky compared to the UK.
Still, the current weather reminds me very much of mid-July 2004 when I went to my first h2g2 London meet ever and we had exactly the same weather: very cold and wet.
I'm starting to doubt that this should be called 'global warming', it rather looks as if we're nearing the next ice age.

Hello B'Elena - missed you!
Did you do it? Cut your hair that is?
It was 45c here yesterday. I even wear my hair in a pony tail to bed. 17c is a normal temperature during the day in the worst of our winters though. (This is one of the reasons we endure 45c in the Summers).

Hello teri, good to see you're back.
I didn't cut my hair, I collected advice here
The period when it was so hot didn't last all that long, so in hindsight, I'm glad my hair is still long.
Worst temperature in winter is 17°C? You'ree lucky then.

I generally only cut my hair when I feel the need to make a drastic change in my life. (I do have it trimmed for maintenance on a regular basis though)...
All is going well for you B'Elena?

Funny you mention it, but it was usually on such occasions that I cut my hair. It's been a bit in cycles, every few years - off they went.
I'm well, thanks, how are things with you? Are you still happy with your job?

My job would be good if I could actually accomplish anything, but I get projects 90% complete and then they languish on the desk of our Managing Director (who get paralysis through analysis). I'm recognized as a "star performer", which is nice and all, but since I'm really into achieving goals, it is very frustrating.
On the other hand, my boss is incredible. I love working for her, which tempers my frustration at not getting anything done. Since they are paying for my Masters degree, I'm going to be indentured to them for at least the next few years.....

a lot of people think that summer have higher temperature, but if you look at average's summer temperature for the whole summer in the Netherlands is 18 C, of course there are peaks.

18c is the average high? I'd be freezing all the time. They keep our office at ~19c and I'm tempted to bring a space heater for my desk.

teri_whoo,
the avarage I am talking about is outside, not some artificial created temperature in an office.

I understand that concept, but would rather not give it practical application, at least not when its that cold .

"I'm starting to doubt that this should be called 'global warming'"
It's not, it's called 'Climate Change'. Global warming is but one aspect. Flooding is another.

It is widely perceived that instead of the gradual seasonal changes in temperature, and the even spread of rainfall that we are used to with a Continental climate, will be more sudden with erratic temperature changes as well as torrential monsoon-like squalls, which is pretty much what we have experienced recently, some more than others.
It is a bit like snow-dumps, where there can be 2 metres of snow in one locality, and nothing 2km up the road.
It's my week's holiday, but I am pleased I don't have a river running through my flat...
And I wanted to move North?
Btw, pleased you are still well maned B'El, if it is going I should wait until Wimbledon is over, at the very least!!! Hopefully you'll change your mind.

Yes, seems you're right. I wonder if we'll have to get used to this up and down in temperatures and the changes from drought to flooding.

Change my mind about what?
