To make Friends you have to be proactive, you can't wait at home wondering why you don't have any.
At parties where you don't know anybody, don't shy away waiting for someone to talk to you. Arrive, make a statement, be bold, wear something that will break the ice, I find fairy wings are a good starting point.
Even if you have to stand outside and psych yourself up, go in and make an impression.

Hi there Pink Fairy -
Well, delighted to meet you. I totally agree with what you have to say. If you put some effort in you will normally be utterly rewarded. Unless you live in Jail or somewhere like that.
Lots of people like me, it's a bit wierd, I don't know why. So I asked someone about it and she said, 'you just giggle all the time Tom'. That would be my tip. Just giggle all the time.

Hi there Pink Fairy -
I read your message, and thought, Pink Fairies are very nice today. I went to get a fig roll and a cup of tea, and then I got into a tree-mendous row with my boss. I don't normally have rows with people so it was a bit weird. I had to think about what the Buddha would do, but that wasn't much good because I don't think people tried to chief the Buddha out very much.
So sorry for not replying sooner. You are trying to make me say: '-and I like fairies'. Well I do. And I certainly like Mavis Cruet!
