That's the one problem with my tattoo parlour : doesn't seem to have enough good flash. Because it's the one closest to South Bristol, it caters more for the generic than the creative. Not that they turn you away, or don't do custom : they are more than happy to do that, and they do *excellent* work. It just seems harder for me to find the designs that I want...

Why don´t get a pure custom one, then?
Just go there and talk to them. The last tattoo-shop I was in, in some very small town in Germany, would have been very happy to do a flash just for me. It would have taken just a tad more money and lot more time though. He asked me to have a little chat with him and explain best as I could the design I wanted. He would then draw a sketch, we´d talk about that and so on...
Sadly I ran out of money before we even started...

I have! The one I have is custom designed.
But they are a very busy shop : they were booked full on the day that I went in (middle of a Wednesday, in July) so they don't always have the time to *sit down*...they say *bring in a picture of what you want* first. Which is totally fine. I am a pretty indecisive person anyway.
My point was, I don't like the flash in my local, that's all.

Oh, ok...
Didn´t know that your first one was all custom...
I hate flash anyway... Most of the time I flick through the pages and leave again. Sometimes they might give some inspiration what to get next, but most times I find them pretty useless.
All my tattoos were more or less custom. They are all made from images I came across and which just scream "take me" when I saw them

Yep. Mine too. I don't see the point of having a permanent image on your body that someone else has. I try to explain to people that tattooing can be an intensely personal thing, but not many understand...

That´s funny... I just know it the other way around. The one on my left shoulder is a triskele (Spelling?), sort of a caltic sign for open spirituality or something I think... can´t really remeber.
Anyway, everyone wants to know what it means, what it means to me, why I got it, how it changed or represents me...
I usually get strange looks when I say: I forgot what it means, it changed me, because I now have some ink under my skin and I got because because I liked the design.
On the other hand, nobody dares to ask me about my right shoulder. Granted, they wouldn´t get the true answer anyway, because its way too personal, but nobody even asks...

I only ever give a vague explanation to tell you the truth. Things like that are definitely far too personal, I agree.
I might be just odd, but I find it really rude when people just ask (sometimes demanding) to see others tattoos...

Yet she's too scared to get a tattoo!!!

Yeah - I didn't mean to be away so long, but I just got kinda caught up . I should be back to normal now, though...
Just been reading about all that hoo-hah about people's approved Guide Entries being deleted by some faceless higher-ups at the beeb...

I followed it for a bit, but I can't be arsed now... I'd like to know the result when they finally *actually* get a reply...
