Dearly Loved of Mars

Could please tell me if there are any highwayman blobs. I have tried to look for them in the pic library but have had no luck.

I am also trying to find any pics connected with the 18th and 19th centuries?

Thanks

There's a page about Dick Turpin, A413902, but the blobs aren't very highwayman-ish.

A1055882 and A643358 and A668090 look about right
A847505 Jane Austen may or may not fit in
A395426 the blob here should fit in
A926363 is the other side of the Atlantic
A241912 are a fairly repulsive couple from the period
A1069508 the headless horseman may be about as close as you'll get

PS I'm trying out this new thing of giving people page references instead of just blob numbers. I may revert to blob form without warning though. smiley - winkeye

Oh, while I'm here, can I interest you in some grave-robbers at A702802 or anti-government activity at A639452 ?

Thank you for the blobs SEF, I have looked at the blobs. I see what you mean about the couple, pretty horrible. There are some strange blobs on here really. I really looking for a man on horseback, the headless horseman would be ideal if he wasn't headless, lol smiley - smiley

The usual answer from the Editors is that you should write a really good article on highwaymen and then it might get to be pick of the day on the front page and have an illustration done.

Another possibility is to draw (or have someone else draw) your own picture and then convert that into TABLE art.

That sounds like a good idea, I might do that when I am in Australia. Though I guess I have more books in England to research on. I know about a few highwaymen, but really need all the dates and things. Is there a link on how to convert art to TABLE format?
Thanks smiley - smiley

It's just "standard" HTML. I've been doing it for years but it gets tedious with big ones. See A911468, A946721 and A1086329 for examples (as well as my PS). I recently got fed up enough of doing it by hand to write a program to convert standard BMP graphics to TABLE art automatically. That's available off-site if you look in the right place.

They are wonderfully silly aren't they. smiley - biggrin It would be possible to do sensible ones instead by drawing a more realistic highwayman's head to overlay on the headless picture.

Very wonderfully silly highwaymen SEF. I will have a go at the more realistic ones when I get back from Australia. Speaking of Australia and Highwaymen, I guess Ned Kelly would be the easiest to draw maybe? smiley - smiley

I assume you mean by just drawing a metal bucket/helmet for the head. smiley - winkeye
