thanks. some useful stuff there.
is it possible to cut part of a blob out and have it as a separate blob?

The front page blobs are usually examples of that saved as separate blobs! However, you *can* just show a section of a blob selected yourself but you need to use proper HTML tags to constrain its visible edges. Or at least you could since it's been a while since I did one! I don't recall leaving any examples lying around on site. So I'd have to search my disk or work one out again and check it still worked with the tags allowed on site.

Traveller in Time looking at the premoderated posting
"Yes, well, 'SEF' seems to be on premoderation for life . Nothing to do with image manipulation, that is my sin .
In about half an hour the posting will be cleared."

yeah but how do you manipulate an image? or cut a piece of it out to use separately?

"How" is what TiT was trying to tell you by showing you an example of doing it (see <./>test4019555</.> which he did have lying around on site. The incomplete compatibility of the techniques are why I didn't leave many of my examples up on site.
On specific browser issues, Opera seems to be one of the worst in not doing (properly or at all) many of the things others do. So if you reduce your aims to that of having your image manipulation only working on *most* viewers' computers, then Internet Explorer probably still has the largest market share and is thus the one on which to make sure something works properly.
