I know how you feel. I lost two dogs within three weeks of each other a couple of years ago, and I thought I'd never get over it.
Take care, now, Universal Granny

Hi Sal,
Sorry to hear about your dog. I remember how I felt when my dog Henry died but just think of all the happy times you've had together and think of him romping around up there with all his doggy friends!
love

So sorry to hear about that sal! (I'm back, by the way )
Anyway, my brother & his wife had 2 dogs that've passed on, both of which I got very attached to. One was a Toy/Teacup Maltese terrier named Pom Pom she'd gotten as a birthday present before they married. Little guy had a unique 'stubborn as a mule' personality...he died of natural causes.
The second, Zoe was a part poodle-part maltese cross...except, full size poodle, she was almost 3 times Pom Pom's size. I remember one year my Parents had brought my brother & his wife a few things from Hawaii, including a box of covered macadamia nuts. That night, they made the mistake of leaving it on the coffee table/end tsble. The 2 dogs knocked it off, onto the floor & gobbled them all! Zoe, being bigger, must've gotten most of 'em, because her hind quarters were paralyzed for 18-24 hrs! Regrettably, she got a leukemia like condition (years later) that I guess was either untreatable, or would've been too costly for them - they've got 3 young girls, so they had her put down...I didn't find out until a few days later.

Hi Sal
I remember my dog Silver, she was a Great Dane.
I remember her antics they were so funny, but she got cancer so we had to get her put down.
She was a big dog, she was taller than me when she was on her back legs.
Anyway i would like to say again of your loss, so think of the happy times you had with him/her.
Take care
xx*NATS*xx

Hi Sal. to hear about your dog, Jim & i have had 2 cats,, sue was 17yrs old,& her kidneys failed so i had to take her to the vets,, i was with her when he put her to sleep, jim was at work 2.10 shift, & it had rained heavy for 2 wks,, but i brought her home, & the following morning, jim was knee deep in mud, burying her in the back garden,, i was so upset said i would not have another pet,, then one day jim brought timmy home with him,, he was a lovely blask& white cat,, just like felix on the adverts,, i came home from work one day & he was really ill, he died b4 we get him to the vet, he was 9 yrs old,, that was 3 yrs ago now, & i won't let jim have another pet, cos i could not stand the upset again,, so i know how you feel, timmy is buried in the back garden,, under the bush, he
d to hide under, & watch the birds.. were sue is buried,, bluebells come up every spring, strange cos we never planted any in the garden,, they come up every spring,, just in that spot... i can't explain it sal,,i missed both my pets,, sue used to follow me every were,, if i went to the shop she was at the back of me... timmy was more jims pet... so i know how you must be feeling... glad you managed to get back in here... will email you later...

You cannot hardly ever detect a birds respiratory illness
That is their prime weakness from what I have understood due to other friends losing birdies.Do not blame yourself for this built-in weakness.
My one friend had to bring her bird here when her power went out. It took a car ride in winter and he seemed perfectly healthy afterwards but died shortly. You cannot possibly control their temperature all the time with the weather changes.
Loss is loss. Does not matter the size or species.
A birds song is always missed along with other daily joyful moments.
I hope in time you will bravely choose to love another pet.
