A Conversation for Talking Point: How Did You Discover the HHGTTG?

...had a copy of the "bible version" of the five part trilogy (that's the one with the thin pages and leather binding) in his room. I picked it up thinking it was a Bible (which was odd, since he was very unreligious), and asked him about it.
He said that it was the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and that I was indeed a idiot, moron, etc. for not having heard of it. He said it was the funniest book _ever_. With this kind of reccomendation, I had to read all the books, although it took a while to find them all at the library. Especially when I was reading them in order.
The first time I heard the radio show (everyone: listen to it if you haven't) was a tape collection that I also checked out from the La Jolla public library.
