A Conversation for Talking Point: How Did You Discover the HHGTTG?
Word of mouth
Mr. Baby Man Started conversation Feb 27, 2003
Being from America, I never heard the radio play or saw the TV episodes until much later. The first I had heard of H2G2 was through word of mouth. The books were very popular amongst my more literate schoolmates and Science Fiction fans. We'd much rather read about Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect than Moby Dick or Silas Marner. Later, when Infocom released their text adventure computer game based on the book, my interest was renewed, and I enjoyed being able to "virtually" be Arthur Dent. It wasn't until much later that I became aware that there had been a radio play or TV series.
