Everybody be good to Tenacious; out of a class of 30+ he's my only student to take my advice and bother making an effort to check out h2g2. A friendly pat on the back from everyone please!

Hello. My name is Helen and i used to live in Great Barr. (B43 7TY) i lived there for the first 22 years of my life, before moving to Telford.
I lived on the Pheasey estate, which although having a Birmingham postcode, came under the Aldridge-Brownhills council.
When i lived there, it originally used to be the 29A bus which went onto the estate, but over the years it was changed to the 90/91/92. I remember the time, when travelcards were introduced and we had to queue up, to have out photo taken on a bus parked in the High Street. This was in the days when Lewis's was still trading.
Im afraid that i dont get the opportunity to go to Birmingham much, these days. My last trip was last year to try out the metro from Wolverhampton and a bendy bus(67). it seems that i hadnt lost my knack of knowing the basic bus routes, although i hadnt travelled on them for over 20 years.

My mum and dad were both from Birmingham, my brother was born there and my uncle still lives in Selly Oak. A few more distant relatives also still live there.
Also, my Gran worked at Cadbury's and I am addicted to 'chocolate waste'.
And I went there to take my Mensa test
Better use my real ID for the club though...

Hathornefer (ACE) Near miss - isnt that what you'd call a hit Posted Apr 12, 2003
For the best part of 2 years (until the latter half of last year) I was working on a project which was based in Birmingham (Colmore Circus) and I used to travel weekly to Brum to spend all day (or longer) there - and indeed I still have friends in Birmingham.
Is that tenuous enough? I am miles away in RM9 but I might still come to a summer gathering. Or too tenuous?
