I've got a tenuous link to Birmingham too
Acid Override - The Forum A1146917 Posted Jul 29, 2003
s**t! Vip* asked me to post a letter for her before she went to the czech republic! And I can't go out today because the landlords coming at an as yet undiscolsed time. Ach.
Two questions
(1) Where is the postbox around here? (Being a child of the electronic revolution I haven't written a physical letter in...well ever)
(2) Whats your real name - even when we meet in real life everyone calls you Zed. Unless you have your post addressed to Zed too? :P
If ya' don't want to give your real name online send it to Vips hotmail account. I can get it from there.
* - when refering to people we know on and offline is it proper etiquette to use their real name or the one their parents gave them?

No don't worry, my real name's Stephen M (I just won't post my surname) and my flatmates (who also used to live there) is Neil T I won't post his surname but it will be obivious from the mail.
To get to the post box,
1 leave house' cross pershore road
2 go up Selly Wick Road,
3take the first right down Easter Road,
and it's about 100 yrds down there.
it's not far at all.
Do you have my forwarding address?

Nope - an in retrospect that probably should have been my third question. Go on then.

Gottit. Your mail will be winging it's way towards you shortly - I take it you want any mail with your surname on even in the forename is different.

Ooh yes please, though I don't think there is any mail in my old name, I had told everyone apart from Telewest. Can I just ask one favour I live above a post office, and have to go and collect my mail from the nice man behind the counter, he only give me stuff with my name on it. - I don't really want him knowing my old name though.
So as it isn't too unusual to share a house with someone with the same surname as yourself could, could you cross out my old name as well and just put c/o Stephen M**** then it would look like it was a memeber of my family who I was forwarding mail too.

Right. No letter for your old name, two for you and one for the guy living with you. All sent.
Now can I be a birmingham researcher?

Of course, I'll add you on the list, I'll pop into the post office to pick them up tomorrow. I didn't think that there would be any in my old name. I'm very organised with things like that.

Er, I had to stay in for the landlord the day we had that exchange, then I worked all of today and posted them when I got back. The upshot of which is that they are still in the postbox until the first collection tommorow so you might have to wait a little longer.

That's ok, dont' worry if it was important I'd have told them my change of address.
Did it go ok with the Devil Incarnate/Landlord?

Yeah it was okay, I got the light in the kitchen fixed (after I mentioned that I had nearly burned the house down as a result of it he did it within an hour) Hopefully Vip gets a new mattress on her bed so it won't be trying to kill her tommorow.

I didn't know there was a problem with that, actually I think Martin might have mentioned it.
Did you mention the hot water tap in the bathroom.

Acid Override - The Forum A1146917 Posted Jul 31, 2003
Yeah I did. Also the shower curtain (which one of you b******ds took it with you? And the fact that the light doesn't work. Thats just the bathroom.
The springs come up through holes in the mattress, this has drawn blood once. Shes welcome to come and join me in my bed but somehow I don't think she'd take me up on the offer

Z Posted Jul 31, 2003
Oi! The reason that one of us took it with us, is because that Martin brought it himself, it didn't come with the house.

Okay, I *suppose* I'll let him away with it then. Not that I care, I only ever have baths anyway, though I have walked into the bathroom to find myself standing in a puddle more than once.
