I never knew the paradox had closed down! that's really a nice building IMHO, I hope it won't end up pulled down to make way for more of the tin boxs that they have over the road from it!
ooh I'm studying medicine. Medical students have to wear white coats, even though 's at the hospital I'm at don't have too. So we get asked the way by vistors all the time...
I spoke to my brother a few minutes ago and he seemed to have come round to the fact that Durham (his second choice) isn't that bad after all!
Are you the one who's writing the pieace on Vegan Nutrition with Vegan too?

Yes the paradox has been closed down about eighteen months now, local worthys?? complaining about revellers enjoying themselves, i dont think that there is much chance of the tower coming down but you never can tell with councils. Totally agree with you all we need is more business parks.
Thought that your brother would come around i am sure he will enjoy the delights of durham!!
Yes i am doing the article with vegantoo, she is doing the nutritional side of veganism whilst i am doing the ethical side of things, that reminds i will have to get down to typing things up.
Off out pretty soon so will catch up you again hopefully

Good luck with the entry! if you need any help with the guide ml side of things don't hesitate to give me a call or drop me a line on here!
Well as far as I remember the Paradox had a bit of reputation about being not the classiest of venues... to be honest i never went to it!

Thanks for the offer of help, might just take you up on that,
must admit myself that the paradox was not my particular cup of tea, went only a couple of times and nothing very memorable happened, the latest i have heard is that the site is going to be turned into a garden centre, just what is needed!!!

Hi donone! I see you've got eyeballs at the moment, so seems like a good time to say hello!
I'm the sod who started all this off, when I was a "newbie" not long back, I mentioned Brum in my guide entry & ended up with lots of Brummies on my space, so wondered if a proper homepage would be a good idea. It's all been put on hold a bit, while I tried to learn more about the ins & outs of hootoo, became (amazingly; they obviously can't get the staff these days!) an Ace, started various other things etc. (unashamed plug to follow)......
Anyway, it's New Years Day & I'm back, full of no-doubt short-lived resolve to actually follow my little projects through, not dump the hard bits like actually creating the page on nice people like Z!
UNASHAMED PLUG FOR Z:
one of the nicest people I've yet met on hootoo; may & & just enough things surround you, Z!
Don't actually live in Brum, but in S.W France, this is one more way of getting back to my roots, so DO keep me informed of all the gossip won't you!
A special hello to girl, who's also involved with my other pet project:
<./> De Myelin Nation </.> A889194
This was set up for those interested in, or affected by in any way (either personally or know someone who is) a de-myelinating nerve condition. NOT just a heavy medical-based whinge-base I promise!
One interesting thing is that most of us also happen to be veggies, so please do come & say hello!
Right, must , you know what these B'ham es are like!

Yes,I am the Lady Lowena!Get with the programme... Posted Jan 21, 2003
Why only this Summer I got stuck at New Street with three children four backpacks and two bikes and a skateboard!!! The Virgin train we were going to catch 'disappeared'two minutes from the station so we just crossed the platform and clambered on the next train on the assumption that if it was going North it wasn't going South.Seven hours to get from Somerset to Doncaster wonderful. Why the postcode?

Don't worry,I think those ideas once they are formed become concrete and real and get stored somewhere. This is a great comfort to me because I have some ideas that disappear almost immediately and yet they were so good! Obviously they were just passing through my brain and onto somewhere else.

I lived in Halesowen in the Black Country for the first 18 years of my life. Although I was born in Scotland, and raised of Scottish parents, part of me will always be a Yam-Yam.
Does that count?

OK, can't resist. I lived in Birmingham for 14 years until I came to the smoke, starting as a student. I drove through Handsworth at the time of the riots (lots of people out on the street corners, but nothing violent going on - that came an hour or so later). I've lived in Sutton Coldfield, Nechells, Lozells (so long ago I can't remember the correct spelling), Selly Oak and Great Barr (plus one other place that I've forgotten - near Spaghetti Junction anyway),

Please let me join...because I: studied at UCE from '93 to '02 (I'm an architect and it's a long course), met my wife in XL's nightclub on Broad Street, work in the Jewelery Quarter, travel on the Metro, used to live in B42, teach at UCE, drink in the Green Room, own a West Midlands Travel bus pass, design the city's housing estates...but I moved to Wolverhampton and commute. Good enough for you?
