I reckon just one category for the lot - lest people think that h2g2 is *way* too focused on DNA... That way you could also include the 'Starship Titanic' computer game, the forthcoming film, etc
h+++ I've read all the books, listened to the radio series , and watched the TV series. I'm listening to the radio version on CD right now, and the TV version on both video and DVD. I've played both the computer games, read lots of fan fiction, and I've already booked my seat for the film.

I'm quite tempted, it has to be said.
I'll tell you what, if this code gets any longer, I'll compress them down. The big problem comes with the likes of (for example) Americans who know the books really well, and would really like to watch the TV series, but can't get the videos. I believe there are quite a few people who were spawned on the TV series, and only read the books as an afterthought. And so on...

You could give an option of indicating which version is your favourite. So h+++r would be loving it all, especially the radio series and h-b would mean not very keen, but the books are okay. If not people could just use h+++(-) to indicate that their enthusiasm doesn't extend to all versions.

It's starting to grow on me, it has to be said. Leave it with me, and I'll find a compromise.

Actually, no I won't. I'm going to leave it as it is for now (at least until V1.2, anyway).
The site is named after Hitchhikers, after all, and I believe it is fair to expect Researchers to have a reasonable amount of familiarity. This also puts me on the opposite pole to the Writing Guidelines, which is where we all want to be.

Good adaptation of the Geek Code! Kudos. And, yes, it stands quite well on its own right now. Believe me, I've tried to imagine what other categories one could possibly still incorporate into the code without it becoming too burgeoning or trivial.
All the best to y'all,

I can well imagine someone becoming fascinated with the "Hithhikers" reality, but I'd sure hate to see groups trying to separate H2g2 from DNA. I'm not even sure how one could, why one would, or how it might be justified if you ... dould.
I remember feeling almost cheated when I found that DNA's next book was a detective story (for about six or seven pages). I'd certainly have hated never getting to read "Last Chance to See".
As an American, though, I can assure you that I first heard the radio version on cassette (thanks to my brother, then at a Northern Michigan college), caught the TV version on the Sci-Fi channel, bought about every version of hard and softback books, and found a copy of the vinyl LP. I even posted most of the entries (some including graphics) on my PDA.
Still, as a mind-child of DNA (one of its three fathers?), I hope H2G2 remains open to all that is DNAish. The intent, after all, was to be inclusive rather than exclusive, was it not?
