A Conversation for Great Ways to Spend a Sunday

That's my favourite way to spend a Sunday - doing nothing!
Well, you usually end up doing something, like eating, drinking, logging on to h2g2 - but try to avoid making plans, and leave your watch on the bedside table!
Sleep late if you want to, get up early if you want to
Have a big Sunday breakfast and allow it to take time
Go back to bed if you feel like it
Slow down... relax... allow yourself to be lazy...
On Fridays at w*rk we sometimes discuss weekend plans - and surprisingly often many of my colleagues have a long list of 'things to do', complete with time table
I think people forget to allow time for themselves...
- time to catch their breath
- time to catch up with sleep
- time to contemplate
- time to relax
- time to think things over
- time to maybe empty your mind and let go of all those things you worry about,
Some of my friends have forgotten how to do nothing - they can't sit still for more than a few minutes before they have to get up and *do* something!
No wonder that people are suffering from stress, feeling burnt out - the have forgotten how to relax!
*crawls back into bed with a bad cold, staying home from w*rk today and tomorrow, and having no plans what-so-ever*
Nothing!

I totaly agree as well. Most sundays i just sleep in, then do nothing for the res of the day. I sometimes feel I should be 'doing' something - and I've loads of stuff I could be doing, but then i just think hey, its Sunday and i don't care!

May I suggest that you try some Stoep-sitting? (see A814899) I think you'll find it to your liking - especially on Sundays?

To me, Sundays have never been the same since the death of Walter Gabriel.
Apologies to US H2G2ers who won't have a clue what I'm on about.

However, there's always ISIHAC on at midday to make up for it. It keeps Mrs Trellis happy, anyway.

Titiana, I didn't know only the British and Americans had Sundays?
Is it a dreadful Imperialist-Capitalist invention?
I think not - someone would have taken out a world patent on it!

WR - I was referring to William's apology to US researchers - I don't have a clue either to who Walter Gabriel was!

He was a character in 'The Archers', an everyday story of simple country folk who while not killing foxes for pleasure, get huge subsidies from the British taxpayer to produce foodstuffs that no-one wants in excess.

Titiana, I haven't a clue either! He wasn't African, or I would have heard of him!
I got the wrong end of the stick
Sundae, anyone?
