A Conversation for TIE Fighter - a Spacecraft from the 'Star Wars' Films

It might be worth mentioning that the TIE fighter is manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems, the primary starfighter supplier of the Imperial Navy, and indeed, the whole galaxy. They produce all of the official TIE fighters, though some prototypes are being assembled in secret Imperial labs. The TIE\D (droid fighter)is assembled within the World Devastators, but it is a S.F.S design. Also, it seems to be a common misunderstanding that S.F.S's name is Seinar Fleet Systems as portrayed in a number of Michael J Stackpole's books. This is not so.
As far as I know the firm was thought up by Timothy Zahn in his magnificent triology, although I am not quite certain this is a fact.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Most of the stuff like that was written into sourcebooks etc before the Expanded Universe as we know it came to be. I'm pretty sure SFS was one of those things.

I'm convinced I'd heard of Sienar - like Kuat - years before Heir to the Empire too
