Should we batton down the hatches? Do we get evacuated?
Vicki Virago - Proud Mother Started conversation Aug 17, 2005
NO!!!
Most people will have heard about the bomb scare at the services on the M56, Junction 14.
Well...this is the junction where I live. We live the same distance away from the edge of the services as the motorway (more or less anyways).
They close the motorway and do 3 controlled explosions and they don't evacuate those living nearby.
The his bl**dy mayhem in and around the area. Roads completely blocked. We were coming back from a day out in West Wales when the call came through from my mother in law to say that she thought there was a problem at Shell Oil Refinery (at the back of our house), but whilst trying to navigate our way home, we heard something about there being a bomb and the road ahead was closed.
We took a little detour to get home. Once we got in, we looked on the TV to find out what had happened. There was indeed a bomb scare.
Ho hum...it's deadly quiet at the house now without the noise from the motorway. No hum of cars and wotnots driving up and down.
Anyone got a spare hard hat?

I ain't worked out the prob yet
And oooOOOOooo check out your house insurance cus in most cases it ain't insured for acts or terrorism/war/and or a rather large ginger snap falling on to it, honest it could happen, really could! I even seen a picture of this house in Germany

Mumsie dear. It's a little closer than 1000 metres!!! It takes 1 minute to walk to the edge of the services.

Are you implying that the is dangerous? Surely not!
You are insured against that causing issues. A bomb is different. Although it's effect depends on the type of bomb. I suspect a service station is unlikely to get hit when there is a far bigger target at the back of your house or worse, alongside the runcorn bridge.
A couple of mortars and it's all over for the mersey basin. Back to washing in the sink then .

I think we should all live somewhere else! Somewhere nice! Somewhere with plenty of sun and sand! Somewhere with a nice greenie/bluie sea and white coral sand! Oooooh and a beach bar!
