Cutting through the backlog
Named in honour of F51431?thread=138209 where many researchers have replied to the first question (in post 1) by clicking on the reply button in post 20, only to find their answers landing hundreds or even thousands of posts later
I know this happens in threads all over hootoo, but this is where I notice it most often

Can I have an example of how the phrase could be used?

Hi Catwoman,
Firstly, may I say that I _haven't_ been thinking this over for five months ... Its just that something I read (F51431?thread=270757&skip=0&show=20#p3374771) mentions how 'it' still happens to seasoned researchers
Anyhoo...
----------------
_If_ the term was widely understood - then when a reply to a (very old) post pops up 100s of posts later, the 'poster' might post again with something along the lines of:
"Please ignore that previous post - it was a Caesarian "

I think a Caesarian needs too much explanation if you never heard of it.
What about a "post21" ? A nice neighbour of catch22
So you will see either
post21
or
post21

I hear what you're saying Marjin, but if the 'Phenomena That Need Names' entry becomes widely read, then the << if you never heard of it >> part will become less likely

I think post21 sounds good, simply because it's easier to spell, and has less surgical connotations.
Any thoughts from anyone else?

A Cesarean will always remind me first of a type of forces birth, not of a standard newbie mistake.

I really like Catwoman's suggestion of 'Post-21'.
It can be applied to any posting made in any thread after reading only the first 20 posts. It has a nice 'Catch-22' resonance and of course if it happens twice it would be a Post-42.
Six7s perhaps was thinking too specifically about the 'Caesar' answer in the particular thread where we have very often seen a lot of Posts-21. None with the right answer I might add, which tells me that the 'Caesar' reference would be lost on most.
There now I've also established that plural of Post-21 would be Posts-21. That's my work done for the day then!

OK, I can take a hint... and I'm willing to let Caesar rest, in pieces...

I'll put it in, I think.
Just so the page has at least one actual word.

...and sorry for any embarassment in miscrediting the source.
All hail Marjin who suggested 'Post-21'.
All hail Catwoman for recognising its genius.
All hail six7s for admitting he was wrong wrong wrong.
All hail me for being such a nice guy.
Hail hail, the gang's all hailed.
I'd like to feature the entry A842249 in <./>AggGag</.>/CAC and maybe stir up some further thought on the need to clearly articulate certain common but un-named phenomena.
The difficulty of course is in first identifying these phenomena. And it's hard to do because they don't have names yet. This is a case of "two heads being better than one and many hands make light work so who needs a cart before you got a horse".
I'm sure more people would wade into this like an all-you-can-eat 'food for thought' buffet because further 'thought' is sorely needed round here lately. Your entry is a perfect example of the kind of thinking we need.
[Certain phrases from this posting may re-appear in the CAC introduction I will write, wrote, will have written.]

AGG/GAG/CAC just puts linbks in, doesn't it? Unlike which creates a whole new article (which is annoying because then there's two versions of your stuff, one of which you can't edit any more).
Anyway, yeah, anything that brings in more minds has got to be good (mmm, brains...)
Caesarian Section:

It allows to make small changes like spelling and punctuation corrections when necessary. CAC is less fussy.
It's also stops people from deleting their entries and creating a broken link in the Post archives. Sometimes AggGag/CAC will create our own entry when we need to change it to GUIDEML for appearances sake or to make sure an unwilling or new author doesn't delete it on us.
But in this case the intention is to burden you with constant updating and modifying the entry as a work in progress based on future input from readers. We need you to stay in charge and stay on top of this project.
