A999002 - It's My Party....(constructing the perfect playlist)

Hi ZSF,
After a little consideration I decided you were right. I've changed the title to the snappier 'It's my party'. The parenthesised versions were too open to question. Thanks for your input

I know the title was changed since the original, but I liked the original more. . .
I just wasn't sure what I was about to read, so I had to quickly rethink the article while I was starting to read it.
Otherwise I like it. Of course, the is a lot of 'opinion', but expert opinion is welcome in my book! And this work sounds like most good weddings.
Good work.

Hi Friar,
Do you mean (constructing the perfect playlist)? I'm quite happy to reinstate that one, but I thought it might be a bit contentious at the time. Having read through it again, though, I suppose it could refer to the order rather than the playlist.
I thought I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

This is a footnote.

Hi Cyzaki,
Many thanks. You helped me no end, because, apart from the footnote for yfs, I've been able to footnote all the paragraph headings with original artist and the year it charted! What an anorak!

hey sbe, yup that's what I was referring to. I just kept hearing the song 'It's my party' in my head, and it took me a few lines before I realized you were talking about something else and not going to be coming to the song.
Additionally, I didn't notice, is there a section on songs to avoid? I mean I've heard of lots of couples picking "Every Breath You Take" as THEIR song, even though it's notoriously about stalking. etc.
I know that a section like that would much be determined by the event and the customer/audience, but still, there are some funny tunes to avoid.

*sharp intake of breath* You are opening up a can of invertebrates there! I wouldn't tackle that with a 10 foot bargepole, I'm afraid!!!! I could just see the complaints as I diss people's special tunes. Case in point, my wife and I got engaged on June 10th 1988 when Glen Medeiros was No.1 with 'Nothing's gonna change my love for you'. I still get romantic whenever I hear it, whilst most people I know reach for the sick bag!!!! It's all yours Friar .... although it could make a good conversation thread.
