I heard about it, of course; but I didn't go to see it.

42, the coincidence is quite striking!

You know ... a coincidence ... like when indepedent things happen at the same time, and it's funny because it turns out that they're the same after all. So it's a coincidence that 42 and I both had the same books on our 'to read' lists.

I started the first one but have to confess I didn't really get into it. I'm not much of a fantasy/sci-fi fan, with the notable exceptions of Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett.

there is only one thing i don't like about the series. the prologes and epiloges are long. they are 50 to 100 pages each. closer to 100 most of the time.

About PG Wodehouse, an author that I like. You can look at the entries that are on that page somewhere.

I think you'll find that it's a dystopia, 42.smiley - smiley

Books like Brave New World, 2001: A Space Odyssey, 1984 and A Clockwork Orange all take place in a futuristic setting that's somewhat depressing or portrays society negatively. That's what dystopia is. (As opposed to utopia, which portrays an alternate, positive version of society.)

Right, English lesson over.smiley - winkeye

I'm reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood just now. It's *awesome*. It's also dystopia, but with a bit of a feminist angle, which is cool. I highly recommend it, though I don't think guys would get as much out of it.
