Well, my dear sir, I can't help it if you are. I mean, come on. 'Thing'? Give me a break. I'm tolerant of other people's beliefs, but that's just too much. I mean, puh-lease.

Dude, 36 new posts today! That's the busiest the YRC's ever been!
42, I know what you mean about the whole friends thing. Trust me, it gets easier as you get older, though I know that's not much help right now.

It's alright, no one needs to feel bad for me.
It's funny. I'm always depressed that I don't have friends, and yet when I meet other people my age, I usually really hate them for some reason or another. Not all the time, but still. Go figure. But then I'm really weird, so people usually don't like me either.
Okay, I'll stop whining now. Sorry.

No worries about whining; that's what we're here for.
Let me tell a story. I spent most of my life floating between groups of friends, never quite fitting in with any of them and sometimes being downright bullied or ostracised. It's hard to find the few people in a school of 2400 students with whom you can feel like you belong. At my school right now there are perhaps four people who I would count as close friends - that's to say that out of every 600 people I come across, one of them will wind up being a friend. I expect the same is true for most people, especially those who are a little more mature and expect something less shallow from people whom they call 'friend'.
It takes time, especially for nerds and geeks. I'm sixteen years old now and I'm just learning what it means to go over to someone's house after school or stay up till midnight talking online. Until this year I'd never even been to a movie with friends. But it really is worth it, eventually. Don't get desperate, because if you're willing to make friends with just anyone you're bound to get hurt eventually. Stay on the Internet and use it to keep from getting depressed (there's more than one way to do that) until you finally find people to hang out with. It'll happen eventually.
Sorry, I didn't mean to lecture.
