Gnomon - time to move on Posted Mar 12, 2003
Unfortunately, I decided to rebuild my home computer last night and I had problems, so I never got a chance to put the new version up on the Web. It's there in my inbox, so with a bit of luck it will be done tonight.

Thanks again
This is fine . I won't suggest any further embellishments (hmmm... gilding, shading to indicate 3D interlacing ... no, no, no, Stop that!)
The article has undergone some minor cosmetic changes since it first went in Peer review e.g. to avoid having links in footnotes, use of subheaders, and mention of the valknot.
Any further comments or suggestions?

Of course, we still have to hope that the editors will consider this good enough to deserve a picture!

Well, yes there is that. Any tips on attracting the attention of a Scout? Then of course it is just a matter of tying them down and tickling them with feathers until they recommend it for the Edited Guide

Has anyone else got any comments on this?
It has been polished to a dull shine, what else does it need? Apart from a gratuitous mention of sex or in the title to appeal to baser natures.

If you fancy some pedantry (you pointed me in this direction, Pimms), here you go:
Overall I think this is an excellently written article... and the following is me being _very_ picky about things no-one else cares about (mostly missing commas).
Para 1: "i.e." should be "ie" (as per English Usage guidelines, not correctness).
No loose ends: "At its simplest, knotwork".
Symmetry: "symmetry is ignored, knotwork".
Consistent interlacing: "restrictions, lacing consistency"
History, para 1: "to know more, Celtic Interlace;" AND "the Celts, see".
Para 3: "It should be noted, however, that Celtic knotwork".
How to create knotwork, para 1: missing space after footnote 6.
Para 4: "1970's" should be "1970s".
"many other people have proposed their interpretations of the probable methods historic knotwork may have been planned" - I don't understand this phrase...
The only other thing I may suggest is adding a TITLE= attribute to some of your external (<LINK HREF=) tags, so that they get a nice description down the right-hand column. See <./>GuideML-LINK</.> for more info.
Good article, Pimms! I look forward to seeing it on the Front Page!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Congratulations!
Let's hope the editors see fit to include some knotwork in this entry. They have my permission to copy the knotwork from my website, or to use it as the basis for a better piece of artwork.

I hope they copied the entry after I'd made the corrections Wol suggested - I'd just finished saving some changes when I noted the new conversation entry showing it had been picked
