I'll go home and look in the registry editor, see if there is something in there.

Norton is the devil, HDS. Tell them that. Then they'll get rid of it. *evil giggle*

I did tell them that, but they are the devils advocates, they care not of the suffering a humble divine shadow

Oddly enough, I have Norton and it works quite well. Although it might be an older version.

Half the people I know hate it, the other half loves it. Personally, I must side with those that hate it because the stupid thing has ed me over too many times

doesn't surprise me one little bit. They seem to think that everyone should conform to their programming, which bull-. The any one of the major companies in the video gaming industry grosses way more than they do. I think its the high grossing tickets who get to deside how their programming works, and smaller franchises (like Norton) should program their stuff to dovetail. Not the other way around, but then again, logic means nothing on planet earth, except more stress.

What you need to do is edit the registry so the Norton AV/Firewall doesn't interfere, or screw anything up. I'm looking for the H-Key that you need to edit, but I haven't had any luck so far.

I think its the live update feature along with the firewall that causes the problem, so what you need to do is get rid of the live update block. The only problem is, that if you get rid of the live-updater you have to do it yourself to keep your virus library up to date.

I'll try to fix that later

Aries (ACE + Badger) Posted Apr 4, 2003

His Divine Shadow: ACE, Shi Alyt Posted Apr 4, 2003

Aries (ACE + Badger) Posted Apr 4, 2003
The only way to fix it, is turn it off or uninstall the Norton component, which isn't easy, the way I'm talking about, is slightly easier and removes it permanantly.

Ah yes, I was just looking at your conversations and see 'The Castle Battlements' (I'm nosy like that) and that you and Craxus are having a fight at the moment. What made you think of a dead cow being fired at you?
(sorry about the total irrelivance to the current subject)
