In the beginning he was trying to find out what was wrong with his name - maybe I just didn't understand something there, the connection to walking through doors?

Advice? Simple - just keep writing. Don't do it at the last minute. And don't be afraid to tell Shazz there won't be an episode this week if you can't get it done - for whatever reason. Better to delay a week than turn out something you won't be happy with later.
Oh, and plan the plot. Very important!
