Yes, yes, yes. So good to see this. just the facts, ma'am.

The thing that's always bugged me is the magic self-unfolding tinfoil. It's always just sounded like mylar to me. Take a piece of tinfoil from your kitchen (just like the stuff most americans were familiar with in the forties). Crumple it up and it stays a lump. Now take a bag of chips (crisps) made of Mylar (the bag, not the chips [crisps]), a material unknown to most americans who didn't work with weather balloons. Now crumple it up and it "magically unfolds itself". It must be from a flying saucer! I just thank goodness those aliens crashed in Roswell, otherwise we'd still have our chips (crisps) in paper bags.

don't you know about the magic self-unfolding tinfoil? It's a stock part of the Roswell thing. There was all this magic metal foil that wasn't like earthly tin foil because it unfolded again when you crumpled it. It's been in the X-files, I'm sure. It's crap, but the conspiracy flying saucer people believe in it. It was Mylar from the balloon, of course.

Sorry, I got interrupted. I don't really think that we have mylar chip bags because of an alien spaceship crash at Roswell. But I bet some people do.

The current one is a bit short, I agree, but yours could do with a bit more detail as well. A short description of what the guy claimed to have found, and a bit more on the various wacko theories would be good.

In particular, it needs some links, both within H2G2 and to some external sites. I'm sure there are loads.

Finally, you need to alert the Italics or the Update centre that you're planning a replacement article.

Okay, now I'll look at the facts. You're going to have to do some explaining about project Mogul being for monitoring satelites: At the time of project Mogul (1947) it would have to wait a decade before there would be a satelite to monitor. I thought I heard that the baloons were radar targets. As far as the bodies go, I thought the story of bodies being recovered only showed up sometime later. The original story was just the rancher's field strewn with metal struts and magic tinfoil. The story of the bodies was from a supposedly larger, partially intact craft quite far away (many miles)from the ranch debris. If I remember correctly, the second story depends pretty much on hearsay, and, as I said, only showed up later.

I haven't had much time to check facts, but I suppose I'll look into that bit about doubting Mogul. I only had the opportunity to check one source, I kind of dashed this one off.

I don't actual doubt that Mogul is the explanation for the Roswell incident; I'm just not sure if you've got the right explanation of what Mogul was trying to do.

As I said, I'm gonna check some facts when I get the chance, I just generally assumed an official looking website would have official facts, that's what the green alien head who is the mascot for the site told me anyway

Oooh I found an entirely different theory from a conspiracist-
He says there are three possibilities,

1. Aliens crashed and the government is covering it up
2. A weather balloon when down, and it's nothing amazing.
3. It was a downed military plane.

i'll co-author if you want, i know a lot about the roswell incident. in fact, this could become part of a group of entries i am working on called 'Aliens Among Us', where i am looking at many different aspects of aliens. we could then make this a really detailed entry on roswell.

i must have about 20 websites and a few books worth of resources of knowledge, with information from tv programs too. there is too much to just tell it all, but just one thing in my mind - the experimental weatherbloon theory, which is what the government suggests, has a great flaw, and that is that the experimental weatherbloon projects didn't start until the early 1950s.
