I can't figure out why when i link to a pic it won't show up. I know i can remote access it as well as the full address of the pic. Whe I put NAME="...address..." in the picture tag, it don't work. Why not? what am I doing wrong?

thanks

You can't display non-BBC images I'm afraid- the BBC doesn't allow it in case of copyright issues.

I want to add a picture to one of my Guide entries.

I've worked out that I can only use images that are already there on the h2g2 graphics sites.

There is nothing in either of the two graphics sites that will be suitable for my posting.

Therefore I have designed a version of the artwork (the logo for the rock band Blue Öyster Cult)which I can affirm that I have created myself in Paintbrush and for which, therefore, copyright resides with me.

(As a point of fact, B.Ö.C's band logo is the astrological sign for the planet Saturn - something which any astrologer will tell you is already in the public domain, by virtue of it being common shorthand notation for one of the planets and which therefore predates the rock band and which, like any other symbol in common use, CANNOT be copyrighted)

How, then, do I upload this piece of work to the h2g2 graphics pages, ideally "Community Art", to be able to retrieve and use it on my Guide entry?

Please assist.

Hi AgProv

I'm sorry but there is currently no way of uploading your copy of the Blue Öyster Cult' s logo to h2g2.

If you e-mail the editors or drop them a line on the <./>Feedback</.> page, they may decide to upload your picture. Or they may not. Up to them, but no harm to ask.
