As opposed to Anthony J Crowley, who is merely a demon. Sorry for those who don't know who Anthony J Crowley is...

"No, Aleister Crowley was the Satanist."
OH! (Now the images of a dude that looked a bit like the head priest in Temple of Doom pop into his head) Like the dude that founded Satanism! Big in the sixties, got a lot of the ladies, and a few celebs I think were into it then, cause it was fashionable and fringe. (hits head) Now I remember... Really don't keep up with Satanism...

For example: tornadoes rotate the opposite way in the Southern Hemisphere from the way they rotate in the Northern Hemisphere. (Couldn't think of a better one. I usually can't, unless I'm reminded by something.)

Actually Aleister Crowley was Not a satanist... he didn't even believe in Satan... he was a Pagan Priest... and definately a really weird guy (and commonly thought to be a satanist)... but he wasn't... he was on the extreme (and sometimes dark) end of Wiccan... "Do What Thou Wilst" is part of the Wiccan Rede that is completed by, "With Harm Toward None, Do What Thou Wilst."
And if you don't know what Wicca is (and yes Aleister was on the bizarre end of it - but all religions have a bizarre end), it is a life-affirming nature religion that stems out of ancient Celtic spirituality (such as Druidism and Shamanism)... it is a very peaceful religion that is built on Self-empowerment and Self-responsibility and seeks to appreciate being a 'part' of the Earth and the Universe, and not just being 'on' the Earth or 'in' the Universe. It is a spiritual path that incorporates the wisdom of all religions from around the world, including Christianity... but (throughout the centuries) has gotten a bad rap because Witches (yes I said Witches) have commonly been seen as satanists (A Witch doesn't believe in satan because they believe that we manifest our own evils, and when we give those evils a name, we give them power over us)...
I do think its important to mention, that Aleister was into a lot of stuff that Wiccans DON'T advocate, and was in fact shunned by many Wiccan communities and covens... his writings are still very widely read and his philosophies are seen as some of the most controversial, but only extreme occultists (and Wicca technically isn't part of the occult) really practice what he preached. -- Most Wiccans would read it, say 'ok, thats an interesting thought,' and then go along their merry way.
So, I hope I didn't step on any religious toes (That really was not my intent)... but if you would like more information on Wicca or Aleister, you might try these links:

By the way... I think the Atlantis guy is Plato (he had a lot of theories about it)... and Homer alludes to it in the Odyssey.

"By the way... I think the Atlantis guy is Plato (he had a lot of theories about it)... and Homer alludes to it in the Odyssey."
I was thinking of Edgar Casey the name just came to me... Really big in Atlantis lore, described all the wacky Atlantean technology (because he supposedly had a past life there). But the again, I hold to the strong belief that Atlantis is Aquateri in the Meditterrean and that Plato was going east instead of west...

Hey E&C. You're thinking of Anton Lavey, founder of the Church of Satan. Writer of the Satanist Bible.

Is it just me or do all these occult guys seem to run together? Aleistar (sp?) Crowley, Anton Lavey (the REAL guy who got all the girls), and Edgar Casey... Too many names... Well just three, but they're rather random...

Aleister, not Aleistar. Why can no one spell that name? Probably for the same reason I can't pronounce it.
