...if you hate the books by Tamora Pierce so much, why have you read nine of them?! And why are you writing reviews of them?!

Seems smiley - silly to me!

Because they started out very good. As I started them, I felt an obligation. Also, that one is just a dud.

I'm writing reviews to warn people of the bad ones and tell people of the good ones.

Fairy nuff then! smiley - ok

When I was younger (like, 10 or so) I loved the Alanna series...the first two books anyway. The last two just got weird! I can definately see the holes in the plots (and I could then - Alanna's friends all being so much older? smiley - erm odd.), but I still think they're a light enjoyable read for younger teens, especially girls. smiley - smiley

That's strange, all the people I know who like the Alanna series are fifteen year-old boys!

I agree about the first two, but you're right, they do degenerate, and Alanna needed a female friend of her own age.

I first discovered the series when I was fourteen (one year ago) and was reaally enthusiastic.

Really? I would've thought it'd be more of a book girls could identify with - the strong girl coming through and equaling or bettering the boys...smiley - erm

Sorry I haven't been online lately.

Maybe that theme appeals more to the boys I know than the girls. That would be strange. I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer reading about girls. they're more intteresting.

Have you read the 'Tomorrow when the war began' series? Very very good books...
