The Safe House on 42nd Street.

*nods*
Myself, I prefer something a little more exotic.
*unholsters a machine pistol*
Now this little item has a history. The mafia were expecting delivery of military weaponry from their friends in Korea, but _someone_ tips off the rozzers. On the dockyards both sides think they've been double-crossed when the fuzz turn up. In the ensuing chaos, no-one notices that one crate of hardware has gone missing.
It came with DU ammo, but I save that for special occasions. It burns a hole in my pocket, if you catch my meaning.

BobTheFarmer Posted Dec 10, 2002
History, eh? These guns belonged to my father, he used them in his trade, and when the time came, he passed them onto me. Same with the knives, but they go back many, many generations.
*shows the crest on the handguard of the knife*
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
Queex Quimwrangler (Not Egon) Posted Dec 10, 2002
The crest looks familiar, but I don't know from where. Can't beat a weapon with a story behind it.
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
BobTheFarmer Posted Dec 10, 2002
Not much of a story Im afraid. Just a thousand assasinations. See these symbols *here* and *here*, (points to integral parts of the chinese ideogram) they mean, 'unknown' and 'killer'. They say this role was given to my family before time, and that the symbols for unknown and killer come from our family name, rather than the other way around.
*Inspects the knives using his thumb. As the blood beads, he looks satisfied, and the sheaths them and starts field striping his guns*
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
Queex Quimwrangler (Not Egon) Posted Dec 10, 2002
Nice. The name's Queex, by the way. See you around.
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
BobTheFarmer Posted Dec 10, 2002
Indeed, Im sure that you'll excuse me when I do not give my name. You can call me Bob, that seems inane enough.
*Satisfied with the quality of his gear, he starts to meditate*

Apollo Posted Dec 10, 2002
*watching the droids rummage, he waits patiently for Alfred to answer Yar's question*
*decides that waiting patiently calls for a Martini, and opens a crate conveniently marked MARTINI MAKING STUFF*
Ahh, how I love these old warehouses...I'll be sure and thank my old friend for leaving behind a good bit of rations

My broom handle has a pictogram as well...but what it says I don't quite know.
Any cold pizza in there?

*Lights a cigerette and puffs it intensively*
"Anyone want to practice fighting me, hand to hand?"
"Don't worry, I won't kill you. I save that for the bad guys and the government"
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Dec 10, 2002
[Yar] I'm firmly opposed to needless violence, but that's just on my resume, so what the heck?
[He gets in a fighting pose, and something in his bearing suggests that he's unusually good at hand-to-hand combat.]
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
friendlywithteeth Posted Dec 10, 2002
How about stave to stave combat?
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
Apollo Posted Dec 10, 2002
*checks for pizza*
Sorry... none in this crate. Perhaps Alfred here can fetch some for you.
*looks around, as a puzzled and astonished gaze crosses his face*
Why... perhaps it's just me, but I believe that we've got quite a different crowd than the one we set off with from the bar
So here's the plan. If you want a martini, introduce yourself and I'll mix you the most spectacular one you've ever had! My name is Apollo...I'm here in search of Daedalus, though I'm more concerned about the rebels which have captured him. I am with you all, so long as you're all still hunting Daedalus...
*holds up a martini for the next person*
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
Mystrunner Posted Dec 10, 2002
*Mystrunner slides a mobile bar out from somewhere, and begins to mix a martini for Apollo.*
Sorry. Can't inform without the proper bartender look.

ED-E42 Posted Dec 10, 2002
Yeah, sorry Yar and Apollo... i'm MIA for long periods of the day
*Main door completed, the three large droids move to the far wall and power down. The walls of the warehouse are now nearly entirely lined with armor plating and many of the smaller droids have scurried off into other rooms to complete other tasks. Alfred's IO lights blink almost constantly now.*
Alfred: My word, such impatience. I was instructed to bring this pitiful excuse of a building up to code for standard ED-E Command Parameters. As for this Daedalus, he and I are not compatible. I'd rather not try and explain why, but let us just say the same reasons I am unable to hack into his systems prevents him from hacking into mine. Besides the fact that I maintain control of myself through a subspace bandwidth. It is safely outside the detectible range and the first thing we did when we arrived here was errect a level 3 energy dampening matrix. Now please stop pestering me and allow my work to continue.
*Most of the crates have been cleared away and walls begin to go up at the far end of the warehouse. The droids move quite efficiently.*
Later tonight once i get home from work Eddie will probably drop in to explain himself a bit, as for Alfred- he refers to all of the robots as "I" because he is a hive mind. His mind works on a level that wouldn't even be picked up as background radiation by any of the available detection devices. This warehouse will be quite secure from Daedalus once it is completed.
The Safe House on 42nd Street.
Mystrunner Posted Dec 10, 2002
*Leans on counter, polishing . Counter rolls away under Mystrunner's weight. Getting up off the ground and brushing shards of off, he re-positions the bar, and flicks on the breaks.*
Word from the underground is that the Anarchists are on the move... they may be getting ready to strike at any moment.

*Hands a pack of peanuts to FWT.*
Yeah, lots.
