h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*Nesal awoke, just in time to see a Hovercraft plummet towards her.*
[Nesal] Oh christ!
*She rolls, barely escaping the impact. Flaming debris is scattered everywhere, and heads over to the two ejected survivors who are trying to get their bearings back.*
[Nesal] Are you guys alright?

*Crouches, panting, in the darkened interior of the building.*

"I'm okay, I think." Mikkie said, thunking his head to unclog an ear of gravel. "How about you, hon?"

POW!

"... Guess I shouldn't've called her hon..."

"You need medical attention." Mydalia coldly stated. "Too bad. No work with the meat wagon today."

And she gathers him up, slings him over her shoulder, and makes for the doctor's office.

*Nesal readies her weapon, runs along after Miseri, and cries out in pain as a sniper round punches through her groin.*
[Nesal] Mmph... Mis... Miseri... I'm... Argh! I'm bait... I... I'm scared...

Oops! That should be "Mydalia"...

*Mystrunner draws a pair of reflective black sunglasses from behind his belt, and fiddles with them. They begin to glow a slight red, and then display an infra-red veiw. He takes a canister out of a pouch, pulls the pin, tosses it, and covers his eyes.*

Flash bang! Avert your eyes!

*Tessek moves towards Dharackni and draws his sword, there are runes enscribed down the blade and Dharackni senses that the sword is playing host to a daemon. Tessek holds the blade of the sword under Dharackni's neck.*
"I should have done this back on Kapheron you traitor..."
*Tessek slowly draws the blade along Dharackni's throat, drawing blood. Dharackni is instantly knocked out as the Daemon in the blade attacked, running through his body. There is a large blinding flash as the daemon leaps from the sword into real-space. The daemon forms the shape of a hound that leaps onto Tessek, who is now frozen with fear.*
"So this is the end that the Weaver of Fates has chosen for me!"
*The hound leaps onto Tessek and rips out his throat in one clean motion, and Tessek falls to the floor.*

*Nesal looks up from the flash. She tries to speak co-ordinates into her comm-piece. A second later, a Griffon seige mortar lands a sonic warhead directly on the building containing the sniper. The shell is designed to leave buildings standing, but pulp anyone inside. This one did. The sniper is splattered across the scenery.*
[Fester] Nesal, listen to me. Stay calm. Mystrunner, Mydalia, get her to the Apothecarium stat.
[Nesal] Am... I going... to...
[Fester] Nesal, don't panic. If you can, open your medical pouch, and use the haemeostatic injections. That will help stop internal bleeding.
[Nesal] I... C-c-c...
[Fester] Mystrunner! Help her fast!

Got it!

*Mystrunner runs over to Nesal, and fumbles at her medical pouch for a moment. Pulling out a haemeostatic injection syringe, he quickly finds a vain and injects it. Then, slinging Nesal over a shoulder, he begins to run out of the alley, sniper fire scattering behind his feet.*

Incoming! I could use a bit of cover fire, here!

*In quick succession, the Griffon slams home three more shells. The snipers give up, unable to cope with the VIPER's overwhelming firepower.*
[Fester] I think they're pulling back. Go! Hurry!

I'm gone.

*Mystrunner quickly dashes out of the alley, and skids off into the darkness, headed back for base.*

Sorry for the names mix-up. Posting on the fly does that.

*Awoken by the sound of Griffon mortars landing close by, Dharackni spots Tessek's body and the daemonic beast nearby. Thinking quickly he mutters an incantation. The beast screamed as it faded out from reality back to the warp.
Dharackni walks from the cell, a couple of JACKAL are playing around with his staff....*
"Come here staff!"
*With this the staff jumps out of the surprised JACKAL's hands and into Dharackni's. Dharackni charges at the JACKAL releasing a roar of hatred. The JACKAL were obviously new recruits as they ran for their lives with no leader in sight.*

Mindless of the crossfire, several Servo-drones on quadruped locomotion slinked like jackals to the downed Viper Hovercraft. Like so many ants, they lifted it with their robotic strength, now in biped mode, and carried it back.

*Dharackni runs out into sniper alley, realising where he's just ran into he quickly runs back again.*

Subject: The Alleyway Next To The Town Hall

Town Hall? We got cross-campaign stuff going on here?

Sorry. I buffer all my posts, and then paste them in one swoop. What I meant to say was:

"POW!"

Unidentified sniper.

*Dharackni runs screaming across the alley, a trail of sniper bullets dart into the ground behind him, he makes it just into the building across the street.*
