Were they unable to find husbands because of their names? smiley - laugh

Gneissenauette sounds like the daughter of a geologist or jeweler. Are you font of the name? smiley - winkeye

They were, indeed, often unable to find husbands because of the unusual names.

They were baby girls born around the time of the Battle of Waterloo - named to honour generals Bluecher and Gneissenau.

This is why people have rules about names now. smiley - winkeye

I only ever had one aunt, and she married and had four children. Her daughter married a veterinarian and produced five daughters and son, all of whom procreated with enthusiasm.

So, maiden aunts are beyond my ken. Unmarried uncles? That's me.

My one aunt was named Vyrene. Her father was proud that it was a unique name. There have been other Vyrenes since then, though.
