How close are you to the Arctic Circle?
I see trees and lawns in those pictures, so it's not as if you are living on permafrost.
I live as close to the Arctic Circle as I want to. Winter cold is too much in evidence as it is.

It is the Highlands of Scotland. I call this phenomena blancmange skies because the colour resembles this dessert. I have seen even more spectacular colours in photos of the Outer Hebrides but I don't live there. Visiting though, at night you get breath taking views of the night skies, which I suppose you get in less built up areas worldwide too but that doesn't include Glasgow

I'm rather partial to Indian Pudding .
Does Blancmange taste like tapioca pudding?
Cherry cheesecake is nice, too .

No, it doesn't taste like tapioca, which is more like sago pudding in appearance. It's more like custard but a horse of a different colour

Don't be 'bloody'jealous prof. These are not red skies, not marmalade ones but if you want to picture yourself on a river, don't let me stop you.

Apparently some old-timers were accustomed to eating horse pudding.
