FWR:

Hazy skies and detailed branches were made for monochrome! I like the framing too, the silhouettes lead the eye from the bright areas into the edges of this lovely shot.

DG:

I like the way the bigger branches make bold lines, while the smaller ones make a network that's almost feathery.

smiley - blush Oh thanks a lot. The original 'colour' picture was almost black and white as well, by the way. It was a very, very gray day. I took the shot while waiting for my husband who picked something up at a shop. smiley - laugh

I hope your kids got to play with in the snow at their grandparents but your having tulips peeking out is surely a sign of global warming.smiley - sigh

Thanks, they had much fun. smiley - smiley But it really worries me that we had no snow at all this year. I can't remember this ever happened.

And yes, I was shocked when I found tulips under the leaves today. We had 17°C yesterday! We're supposed to go back to 0 on wednesday.

Trees do make a great subject for black and white, and I like how this photo is similar but different from mine A87962566 - the hazy sun adds more contrast and variety of tones smiley - ok
