FWR:

Dramatic shot Bob! Monochrome emphasises the contrast of the clouds against the sunburst on the horizon. Rule of thirds adding more drama with the darkened foreground.

Nature at its best, Bob Stafford at his best!

bobstafford:

One for BB. The seascape was taken at Stokes Bay looking towards the Isle of Wight.

It's a beautiful photo. The sky is a wonderful thing to look at. My favorite Friendly Village plate has a design of a hay field with a fantastic sky overhead. The clouds over The Village are awesome too.

One thing i love about my computer is that it is next to a picture window, from which I can see my neighbor's trailer, and some distant trees, and the endlessly fascinating sky. It's not paradise, but when there are goldfinches perched on my blue chicory bush, I'll take it as a good substitute. smiley - ok

Cinematographers for Western movies generally do a good job of showing you how vast the sky is. There were some fabulous sky shots in the early scenes of "Brokeback Mountain." The area around Devil's Tower was also highlighted in "Close encounters of the third kind." And then there's India, where the sky is said to be huge.

Interesting thought. Perhaps we all get our inspiration from many places without realizing it smiley - smiley

Indeed! Incredible! What to say! The cloud shadows all mysterious like that, I could easily have an out of body experience and disappear into this pic.

I won't. Fear not. smiley - rofl Its just such a mysterious pic.

Yes, the geometry of the shadow is amazing! Great photo, and the black and white really emphasises the drama of the skyscape, that colour wouldn’t necessarily capture smiley - ok
