The cat that adopted mam/dad at the time (long story as such) was a male Russian Blue - I named himSpud! he like it and answered to it

I like orange tiger cats. I used to babysit (catsit?) a cat named Ginger. A totally spoiled cat who was scolded by his people when they got back from the trip they took. Ginger astonished me. He managed to fit through some very narrow passages, acting as if it were nothing. COnsiderin g that those same places where mice might be lurking, I think Ginger must have scared them completely.

Just wondering, Do ginger cats taste better as well?

He didn't know. His host didn't tell him until they'd eaten the stew that it was 'Dachhase' - 'roof rabbit'.

We might not eat cats intentionally, but a coyote might. It depends on what else there might be to eat in the area, and how easy it would be to catch the cat.

Spud after our slang for potato spuds/potato's. No other reason, I just like the name spud! (we also sometimes call mates spud as a nickname)

Snuffy Smith, the cartoon character from the Appalachians, has an infant son named Tater. Not an uncommon hillbilly nickname.

I used to read "Barney Google and Snuffy Smith," but after it was dropped by our local newspapers, I assumed the strip had been discontinued. I was surprised that you would also remember it, Dmitri, so I checked to see what its status was. It's been in the papers for one hundred years! It started in 1919. 500 newspapers carry it nowadays.

Dmitri, I am familiar with that song. I don't know how it happened, but you and I have an amazing rapport in terms of the trivia that we know about.

Let me ask you this: have you read much about the Vaudeville tradition? I used to read everything I could get my hands on, as it increased my understanding of Hollywood comedy. I'm not sure who was the last of the old vaudevillians, but even as late as 1964 there were numerous ones in the cast of "It's a mad mad mad mad world."

Those who remember the British musical hall tradition may be familiar with some American vaudevillians as well, since the most popular people on both sides of the ocean tended to cross over.

The last gasp of Vaudeville/Musical Hall programming was "The Muppet Show," which started in the 1960s, and has occasionally been revived since. I'm a Muppet fan.
