I would not want to be a cat. Imagine being expected to catch and eat mice with their long, icky tails! I will grant you that mouse ears and eyes are cute and adorable, but the tails are revolting! And what's with the pink legs and paws? Whoever designed them was not thinking straight. The tail is as long as the body proper, which means that it can be grabbed by whichever predator is in pursuit. A major design flaw if you happen to be a mouse. But the ability to catch mice and rats in he Egyptians' granaries was the thing that got cats their jobs, not to mention credit for being divine.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, when European explorers happened upon Egyptian tombs filled with mummified cats, they imagined that there must be some medicinal benefits to the mummified beasts. This was a delusion, but that didn't stop the Europeans from cashing in.

Really, it's almost a miracle that this world works as well as it does, given the design flaws....
