Wow, a lot of meat on those hooves.

I wouldn't have expected such speed from an animal of that size. It shows they have good sense to avoid humans.
Wow, a lot of meat on those hooves.

Yeah, we humans seem to be a blight upon Nature, eh?

When you say
>They don't need to drink, being able to extract as much moisture as they need from the foliage that they eat<
That reminded me of something I read a while ago, about reclaiming desert...
around the edges, put cattle. They will compact and press their waste into the ground -
the salient point being that the dried grass they eat, as it's digested, releases or is converted into enough water to keep the animal alive, and the ground they've been on has a much better chance of becoming fertile...
Is this so?
Wow, a lot of meat on those hooves.

Hi Elektra and Rod! Rod, I don't know about that for reclaiming desert. I'll have to research it. I'll let you know when I find out.
Wow, a lot of meat on those hooves.

Hello Willem,
Try this: it's over 20 minutes long, the most relevant bit starts at about 12 mins. It doesn't mention dry grass + digestion = water but it's all interesting.
