I have submitted the list that I offered too late last time. Not a single person on that list has died, nor is anyone likely to die in 2015. But you never know. smiley - erm

Lists received from:

Galaxy Babe
Icy North
Just Bob
Mol
logicus tracticus philosophicus
paulh
Pink Paisley

will get processed at the weekend, hopefully.

Closing date is 31 December as always, but I'd appreciate them asap as there's a lot of work involved putting lists in alphabetical order and checking they're not already deceased, plus fiddly code to deal with, which I don't want to spend my New Years Eve doing, smiley - ta

I assumed that, if they were already dead, it was our own fault for not doing our research. I was going to ask what happens if they die between now and the end of 2014, but I thought I'd just leave it and hope it doesn't come up.

I think you're allowed three substitutes and a blood replacement.

Surely you couldn't be penalised for picking someone that was already dead, unless it was reasonably obvious, like Henry VIII or William the Conqueror or Spike Milligan. They may not have owned up to being dead or have a great PR department. It is rare for somebody to be more successful AFTER they have died isn't it?

Cue list of people who have been more successful after they died.

Well, Notorious B.I.G. and 2-Pac are the obvious ones.
It's not much of a penalty, in context, to lose the benefit of a slot because it's occupied by someone you can't get points for, surely?

No-one will lose any points over any deaths between now and New Years Day. I make it my business to check smiley - skullhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deaths_in_2014 (notable deaths appear there, plus some not-so-well-knowns before they are removed) every day and if I recognise a name from the Game then I will email the picker for a substitute.

I do check all the selections before I upload the Game that they are alive and kicking, or the ventilator's still working, whatever, but I'm as capable of making a mistake as anyone and I assure you no blood will be spilt in the event of an error.

I've a feeling the last-year-but-one that I got any points, it was because somebody who had been on my list consistently from the start pegged it on 29th December or thereabouts. And I was allowed to field a substitute.

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

Nooooo. Not Verna Lisi?

'How to murder your wife' is one of my top 10 films. Brash Brannigan and the Gloopa gloopita machine. Who can forget the court scene? 'Go on. Just press the button!'

Of course! Hot Fuzz! I knew I recognised her face. Thanks, paulh.

I mean, I *know* she's super-famous and did loads of stuff. But I've never seen any of it.
