I don't have any recordings by Blondie, but that doesn't mean I haven't heard "Tide is high," as it has been included in the soundtracks of at least 12 movies:

2010 Easy A (writer: "Numba One (Tide Is High)")
- The Bahamas Triangle (2009) ... (writer: "Numba 1 (Tide Is High)" - uncredited)
2007 The Nanny Diaries (writer: "The Tide Is High")
2006 How to Eat Fried Worms (writer: "The Tide Is High")
2006 The Lather Effect (writer: "The Tide Is High" - as J. Holt)
2003 Monster (writer: "Tide Is High" (1980))
2003 The Lizzie McGuire Movie (writer: "The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)")
2002 Utanför din dörr (writer: "The Tide is High")
2000 Duets (writer: "The Tide Is High")
1998 The Last Days of Disco (writer: "The Tide Is High")
1996 Striptease (writer: "The Tide Is High")
1994 Muriel's Wedding (as J. Holt, "The Tide Is High")
1989 Longtime Companion (writer: "The Tide Is High")

[No, I haven't seen all the above movies, but I've seen 3 or 4 of them.]

Oscar de la Renta's wife Annette was named legal guardian for centenarian Brooke Astor, who was suffering from Alzheimer's. Astor's son was convicted of improper use of his mother's trust funds and accused of maltreatment of his mother. When Astor's estate was finally probated in 2011 or 2012, Annette inherited some of Astor's things, but channeled everytiong to charity. Astor's grandson, who testified against his father, is an advocate against elder abuse.

I remember Alvin Stardust very well, didn't he represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest at one point?

I'm quite intrigued by Keith Richards' comment there. I can't say I'd have him down as any kind of rock 'n roll great. But he was fun enough smiley - smiley

Oh no, now I remember. He *tried* to represent us in Eurovision in the old qualification rounds of 'a song for Europe' but failed. I recall now, because I was amused that quite a few years later when he quietly released his contending song once presumably the record company thought noone would remember… smiley - evilgrin

Jack has 59 soundtrack credits according to IMDB. Among the movies his music was used in:

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (performer: "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (Finale)) [1978]
Purple Haze (writer: "I Feel Free") [1982]
The Breakfast Club (writer: "Sunshine Of Your Love") [1985]
1969 (writer: "White Room") [1988]
New York Stories (writer: "Politician") [1989]
Backdraft (writer: "Sunshine Of Your Love") [1990
Goodfellas (writer: "Sunshine of Your Love") [1991]
Pirate Radio (music: "I Feel Free" (1966) - uncredited) [2009]
Tooth Fairy (writer: "SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE") [2010]
Due Date (writer: "The White Room") [2010]

Plus numerous TV and documentary uses.

Long after people have stopped listening to their Cream recordings*,
Hollywood and television will still be recycling their music. It's
something to think about.

*Miley and Beyonce and Justin and One Direction and all the other latest superstars seem to be getting most of the attention, after they have faded away, someone else will take their place....
