I think they have really pretty faces with those striking features. I'm glad they aren't rare. I just don't think I could live communily with so many individuals. Too confusing. I think it is that they all can recognize everyone in the troop.

Thank you Willem
It can pinch a banana but mitts off my gin and tonic.
I, um, googled, and see what you mean about their colouring being very vivid...

Hello everyone! Thank you so much prof! I really hope I can get that audience soon ...
Thanks Elektra! They're cool in many ways. I'll see if I can feature some more African monkeys soon.
Peanut, you will just have to keep a close watch on that gin and tonic then!

There are many interesting features about that painting. For me the most interesting is the hands and feet with the back leg. It gives a strong sense of the animal being in a hunched position and ready to bound off. Then there is the focusing: the sharp focus of the monkey and the rapid defocusing of the background - it gives a sense of movement and temporariness. Then there is the expression of the monkeys face - examining the viewer ... is the monkey trying to say something - is it an accusative look or an inquisitive look?

or is it a I want your G+T look
I have decided the sensible 'guarding' thing to do in this situation is to neck back my G+Ts quickly
perhaps the monkey knows this and is going hah Peanut has had 3 G+Ts and is likely to have a nap, she might not even get through the 4th one and that pistachio and cashew nut mix and those olives they haven't finished will be mine.
seriously StoneAart, interesting questions and observations
