I was nagged by this thought earlier .
Voters "report cards" have been mailed out for current addresses and I did not get one!smiley - wah
I was reading an article about typical voting problems.
Like any official forms, your signature is important.
Most of the signature problems for mail in ballots in our state is a lack of signatures.

Many years ago my signature was questioned.
I was shown 2 - both mine.
I tried to change it in my 20s, I accidently switched between the two.
EEK! important to pick one and stick to it says;
my bank, taxes, drivers license, insurance, charge cards etc

The vote checkers compare your signature on mail in votes to others of yours.
But what do they use when you mail it in?
I am going to call tomorrow and check for sure!
I have not moved for 22 years.
My signature issue was last a problem about 10 years ago.

It may be my drivers license which would greatly simplify things!
I really do not think it is drivers license for mail in ballots.
I'd need that id in person.
I can't imagine the state keeps images of all drivers license signatures.
I'm thinking it may be the long ago filled out voters registration card with a different signature.

You know when your vote arrived because you stop getting calls telling you to vote!
That is not the same as knowing it was counted.
I've never thought about if you'd know your vote was tossed.

Do you know that in the UK, you get sent a card in the post, but if you forget it it doesn't matter and you are never asked for any kind of id. You just go there, say your name and address and they hand over the forms.

This always strikes me as a somewhat optimistic way of doing things, but I'm not aware that anyone has tried to abuse it.

That is the way it used to be here until recently.
It is very odd that states have different rules.
We have some states that still do it that way.

The really odd thing is there has never been a problem with people cheating with their vote.
Our issues seem to be with the obstruction of votes through ever variyng forms and rules.
Finally, they did not allow late changes on the voting rules this year. They have before.

There is very little voter fraud from the voters. It has never threatened an election.
Obstructing votes has been used as a political weapon against voters/candidates.
It needs to be monitored closely.

Thanks for reading and commentingsmiley - smiley

Ah. Interesting. I assumed it was a long term thing.

That is bad - obstructing voters. I'd heard rumblings but I hadn't quite realised the extent.

Don't worry about forgetiing to preview on my account - I am useless at proof reading and hitting review my self.
